About Me
As a therapist, I aim to create a space for my clients which is safe, non-judgmental, and explorative. My professional stance deeply relies on a collaborative effort, which is more client-led. It can be captured in a quote by renowned psychologist, Carl Rogers, “There is direction, but there is no destination.” This essentially means that we come together to understand the goals of therapy which are personal to you, instead of a pre-conceived notion of what healing and growth look like. I act as a tool and force to move you towards that direction. I focus on insight development and increasing one’s capacity for self-reflection in order to become more aware of our feelings, thoughts, and motivations which ultimately guide our actions/behaviours.
The therapist-and-client relationship is extremely important to our work and has been seen as a powerful tool in therapy. I believe the client is a source of abundant knowledge and information needed to ultimately guide our therapeutic work, toward the goals we have mutually set. My theoretical approach is called Person-Centred and Humanistic Therapy in the field of psychology. This approach believes in tapping one’s inner resources, such as our inherent capacity to gain self-awareness and enact self-directed changes in our lives, with the guidance and support of a therapist.

I am a trained Integral Somatic Psychology practitioner. Our emotions are stored in and expressed through the body. Using this approach allows us to make our emotions more tolerable and bearable in the body, helping us form new meanings of our experiences.

The personal and political cannot be separated, I understand that some clients would want to address and explore the impact of their sociocultural and political identities on their personal life in therapy. I welcome such insight and exploration in my practice.
